The Rod

the rod
My shower rod pulled out of the wall. How do I reinstall?

Also, when the shower rod pulled out of the wall it left deep grooves where the screws slid against the wall. I need to know how to fix the grooves before I reinstall the shower rod.

Fill the holes with sardines and then reinstall.

The Very Best of Otis Redding

The Very Best of Otis Redding

$5.76

No other Otis compilation quite satisfies the way the old double-LP best-of does, but never mind: any way you hear Redding’s many great moments is a good one. The Very Best splits ballads and up-tempo stuff half-and-half, letting you hear the great one’s humanity in every mood–the pile-driving rock of “Respect,” the preaching fervor of “Try a Little Tenderness,” the nascent reflection of “Dock of…

Planet of the Apes [Blu-ray]

Planet of the Apes [Blu-ray]

$11.99

Many early science fiction films are now, quite inadvertently (and in most cases undeservedly), objects of camp attention: we laugh at the silly makeup, tin-can special effects, and the naive “high-tech” dialogue. Planet of the Apes is no such film. Its intelligent script, frightening costuming, and savagely effective conclusion (which needs no big-budget special effects to augment its impact) rem…

101 Dalmatians (Walt Disney’s Classic) [VHS]

$8.89

Back in 1961, Walt Disney got a little hip with 101 Dalmatians, making use of that flat Saturday morning cartoon style that had become so popular. The result is a kitschy change in animation and story. Pongo and Perdita are two lonely dalmatians who meet cute in a London park and arrange for their pet humans to marry so they can live together and raise a family. They become proud parents of 15 pup…
